Dual power, zero compromise. Hi. I'm Jody Suzuki, and this is the twenty twenty five Honda CR V Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle or CR V E F C A V. After all the work that's gone into its development, I'm thrilled to introduce you to a few of the features that make it stand out in the CRB model line. Let's start with its unique styling. All the body panels forward of the A pillar, the hood, fenders, bumper, and grille have been redesigned to distinguish this from its CR V siblings while also accommodating the advanced power plant under the hood. The grille is probably the most obvious example. As you can see, the standard CR V opening has been expanded by over twenty seven percent to increase cooling efficiency for the fuel cell stack, power control unit, and front wheel drive electric motor. This CR V is longer than its siblings, which results in a sleeker, more streamlined silhouette. To help enhance straight line stability and improve aerodynamic flow, the body has been lowered by one point one inches, Spoilers have been added below the front bumper, and full floor undercovers shield most of the remaining area. These unique black eighteen inch alloy wheels are standard equipment, and they're also exclusive to the fuel cell electric vehicle. The charging port door on the front fender is where you plug the cable in to charge the vehicle's seventeen point seven kilowatt hour lithium ion battery. Let me step in here to mention that this is also where an owner can plug in special adapter to get a hundred twenty volt AC power out. In this way, the fuel cell can generate up to fifteen hundred continuous watts of AC power. So if you like to camp off the grid, you'll have a reliable source of electricity to charge your laptop, power your coffee maker, and even make some toast to start off your morning. You'll notice that the fenders and door sills sport body color trim unique to this fuel cell electric vehicle. What you can't see under the sheet metal are the reinforcements added to the body structure to help stiffen the platform and provide added protection for both the passengers and the hydrogen tanks. Open the fuel filler door on the rear quarter panel, and you'll find the standardized high pressure hydrogen receptacle. Fueling from an h seventy pump, it takes less than five minutes to go from empty to full. Around the back, you can tell it's the fuel cell electric vehicle by a few distinctive features. Most prominent are the unique clear outer lenses over the rear combination lamps. They appear crystalline white until the brake and running lights come on. The contrasting trim bar that runs along the bottom of the window is another giveaway. Honda engineers also changed the rear bumper and fascia to eliminate the twin exhaust pipes found on the other CRVs. That's right. There are no traditional exhaust pipes in back because this vehicle's exhaust is emissions free. And that takes us back around to the front of our new fuel cell electric vehicle. Our tour of the outside began with the styling vocabulary that helped make the CR V platform so successful. Then Honda engineers added new twist to set it apart. The grill, the added length, new wheels and side trim, and unique rear tail lamps to name a few. Welcome to the CR V Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Walkaround. In this video, we're going to look inside. The CR V fuel cell electric SUV provides the same roomy one hundred and six cubic feet of passenger volume that has attracted so many customers to the CR V model line. The layout and interior design are very similar with a couple of notable exceptions. The synthetic leather steering wheel cover includes a special surface treatment and an additional layer to help make the wheel feel cooler to the touch after sitting in the sun for a while. Following the eco conscious themes underpinning this vehicle, the synthetic leather trimmed seats are made of sustainable bio based materials. You'll notice some accommodations made for hydrogen storage tanks in the rear, but engineers added a removable upper cargo deck to enhance the space's versatility. When you sit in the driver's seat, you're bound to notice the new redesigned ten point two inch digital instrument cluster, which features battery state of charge and fuel level gauges on the left and right. You'll also see clean updated Honda sensing graphics in the center. Although the center mounted nine inch touchscreen can be found in other CRVs, several new screens have been added to this vehicle to accommodate unique fuel cell system features including an EV range total range display and a vehicle charging and schedule settings display with controls for different charging scenarios, pre trip climate control, and power output limits when using the one hundred and twenty volt AC adapter to power tools, lights, or appliances. You may wonder what the pre trip climate controls are all about. They're designed to help maximize the vehicle range. How? Let's say one cold winter evening you set the vehicle up in your driveway to charge overnight. By programming the climate control to warm up the interior before you unplug, you can draw on the charging system to heat the vehicle without using any of the hydrogen fuel on board. This means when it's time to leave, the cabin is nice and warm, the battery will be charged, and more of the fuel in the tank will be available to power the wheels if and when it's needed. This CRV fuel cell electric vehicle also comes with a premium twelve speaker Bose CenterPoint sound system with active noise control as standard equipment. Of course, this forward thinking Honda features the newest version of Honda Sensing with the latest enhancements, including a more versatile collision mitigation braking and forward warning system, advanced capabilities in the adaptive cruise control with low speed follow, and an expanded list of signs of the upgraded traffic sign recognition system. As we mentioned in the beginning, this CR V is an electric vehicle with two sources of power. A rechargeable battery and a fuel cell which uses compressed hydrogen gas to generate electricity. The low end torque of an electric motor results in a remarkable fun to drive pickup from a standing start. This system delivers one hundred and seventy four horsepower and two twenty nine pound feet of torque. In terms of range, it received a combined two seventy mile rating and an all electric range rating of twenty nine miles. In practical terms, that means if you have a twenty mile round trip commute each day, you could charge the vehicle each night just like you do your cell phone and only tap into the hydrogen for the occasional trip outside the immediate area. The CR V E F CEV also addresses one of the most common complaints of BEV owners: long charging times. Even when nearly depleted and depending on conditions, a level two charger at home takes approximately two hours to charge this vehicle's seventeen point seven kilowatt battery pack while a fill up at the nearest fueling station takes less than five minutes. Each of these CRVs comes with a list of benefits that go beyond the vehicle itself including HOV lane eligibility for a single driver, a complimentary fuel subsidy of fifteen thousand dollars or more for the purchase of hydrogen, and complimentary premium vehicle rental for up to twenty one days within the lease term for any longer road trips. And that in a nutshell is our new fuel cell electric vehicle. It begins with most of the features that have made the CR V platform so successful. Building on that foundation, it provides the advantages of a full battery electric vehicle without the long re charge times. Last but not least, the driver can add enough range for many longer trips anytime they need it. It only takes five minutes at a hydrogen pump.
